Coal Harbour:
Coal Harbour is the name for a section of Burrard Inlet lying between Vancouver's downtown peninsula and the Brockton Peninsula of Stanely Park. It is also in recent years the name of the neighbourhood adjacent to its southern shoreline, which was redeveloped as an upscale high-rise condominium district in the 1990s.
The harbour is bounded by the Financial District, Stanley Park, and Deadman's Island, the site of the naval station/museum. Coal Harbour is home to Vancouver Harbour Water Aerodrome, located a few blocks from Canada Place and the site for the expansion of the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Center, scheduled to complete in early 2009.
The neighbourhood is bounded to the southeast by Burrard Street, to the southwest by West Georgia and Pender Streets, and to the northwest by Stanley Park. The northwestern section features parkland, private marinas, and several rowing and boating clubs. The neighbourhood is dominated by high-rise office and apartment buildings. With some of the city's most breath taking views of the water, city, and mountains, the neighbourhood is to home many world class condominuims:
